Working in partnership

The Historic Environment Record that Dyfed Archaeological Trust (Dyfed Archaeological Trust) maintains is one of four in Wales, the other three being maintained by the Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust, the Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust and the Gwynedd Archaeological Trust.

The four Welsh Trusts are partners in the Extended National Database partnership (END) along with Cadw, the National Museum of Wales and the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments (Wales). Together this partnership is responsible for an on-line index to historic environment information for Wales known as CARN.

Information from Cadw, the Royal Commission and the National Museum of Wales is now available to view through an on-line facility known as Historic Wales. It is anticipated that information from the four Welsh Historic Environment Records will soon also be available through Historic Wales.
